The 1880’s Guest Ranch is located at 1600 North Cable Road, Anaconda, Montana 59711. Which is 26 miles from Butte and about 2 hours from Bozeman. The ranchwas built and opened in 2001. It was open until 2008 when it closed so the current owner could follow their dreams of living in Florida. The ranch is currently For Sale and ready to be reopened. It resembles a True Old West Town with a Saloon, Boarding House, and a Church. The property comes with 54 acres and 12 complete buildings. The majority of the buildings were purchased and moved to the current location. Three of the buildings were built for the town to resemble homes during the 1880 era. Updates have already been done with electricity and plumbing.
The plan is to take on investors so that we can purchase the ranch and reopen it for the 2014 season. The current state of the ranch shows damage from the Montana winters on the exterior. The interior of the buildings are dusty and dirty but with some scrubbing and cleaning they will be ready for guests. As for the exterior repairs all the materials needed are on the ranch and are of the era. Some paint and minor purchases will need to be made. The ranch could be opened right now as a Bed and Breakfast or a tourist attraction.
The Guest Ranching Industry does not have anything like this! When you think of a Dude Ranch Vacations what comes to mind first? The old west… Well this is it a True Old West Town! The marketing plan will focus on attracting families and children to come relive what the west once was. Not only can the ranch run during the Guest Ranch season of May to September it can run most of the winter as a Bed and Breakfast or Country Inn. At this time the ranch does not have the forest permits needed to use government land but those can be acquired by 2014. Until then the use of government land can be by guest who bring their own horses and ride on their own.
